Zodiac Compatibility July 9, 2008

So is there anything to zodiac compatibility. Does your astrological sign really have anything to do with who your ideal mate is? Or who can be the best friend for you? Is there an astrological basis as to why some siblings are rivals for life, while others are as close as twins?

The most common zodiac compatibility charts out there only base their statements on the compatibility of Sun signs. If any of you have ever had a natal chart drawn up you know there is much, much more to your astrological makeup than your Sun sign! In order for a compatibility prediction to be accurate it would have to take into account the full natal chart of both parties.

So should you make the decision about your life partner based on astrology? Well, it doesn’t hurt to do some dispassionate examination before taking such a big step. While you might not want to reject someone on the basis of their birth date, a good horoscope CAN help you out with some clues to his or her nature that you might not pick up on all by yourself.

Keep in mind too, people can change, sometimes radically after the ‘honeymoon period’. This is the sort of thing that you might not normally notice at the start of a relationship, but you are much more likely to recognize early on if you’ve been tipped off in advance (by learning more about a zodiac sign’s personality traits).

Perhaps the best use of zodiac compatibility charts is not as a yes or no guide but rather as a guide to where the difficult areas may be between two signs. If you are forewarned of potential hot spots you are better equipped to come up with strategies that help the two of you work through them. And when they do something that completely mystifies you, perhaps a little basic knowledge of astrology will help you decipher what’s going on and help you communicate better. And that’s never a bad thing, no matter what resource you’re using for better communication.

Using astrology as a guide rather than a rule book, can help us to better understand not just ourselves, but our loved ones as well.
